TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Sharp Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Sharp”) and Cocoro Life (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“Cocoro Life”), in collaboration with our panel insurer and underwriter of the Plan, AIA General Berhad (“AIA”, “the Insurer”), are pleased to offer a 90-day complimentary protection under our COVID-19 Protection Plan (“the Plan”) to Customers who purchase selected Sharp Air Purifiers.
1. ABOUT THE PLAN
The Plan is an insurance policy that is underwritten by AIA and is complimentary to those who purchase a selected Sharp Air Purifier, whether via online or from our retailers. Eligible Sharp Air Purifier models: FPJ80LH, FPJ60LW, FPJ50LH, KCG60LW, KCG50LW, KCG40LH, KCG40LW, FPGM50LB, and FPJM40LB.
1.1 Cancellation & Refund
You may cancel the coverage at any time by giving a written notice to the insurer. In the event the intended effective date of cancellation precedes the date of the insurer’s receipt of the notice, the cancellation shall be effective on the date the said notice is received by the insurer.
However, there will be no refund as the coverage is complimentary, courtesy of Cocoro Life.
1.2 Beneficiary Nomination
As per Government regulations, all persons are given the option to nominate a beneficiary. You may opt to do so during registration.
All Malaysians and foreigners legally residing in Malaysia are eligible for the Plan.
All persons aged between thirty (30) days to sixty-five (65) years old are eligible to be covered by the Plan.
The Plan is only applicable to the person who purchased the Sharp Air Purifier. Cocoro Life membership is also required – membership is available for free via the Cocoro Life app.
No health declaration forms or medical reports are required to obtain coverage.
Exclusions from the Plan under Pre-Existing Conditions include illnesses or conditions that have occurred before the effective date of coverage. For COVID-19, this includes those whose COVID-19 test results are still pending when the coverage period begins.
There are NO restrictions on frontline staff and recent overseas travellers to sign up for the Plan.
The Plan’s coverage will remain in force until expiry of the coverage period, even if the insured person has aged beyond 65 years old during the coverage period.

Sharp and Cocoro Life reserve the right to reject coverage for any applicant without having to provide any reasons whatsoever.
Upon acceptance of coverage by AIA General Berhad, Cocoro Life shall e-mail the Certificate of Insurance to you.
The Plan covers a period of 90 days, its effective starting dates will be either the 1st or 15th of each month, whichever is the earliest date from the date you submit your details to us upon purchase of your Sharp Air Purifier.
The Plan only covers Malaysia, and offers you the following coverage:

I. If you sustain accidental bodily injury caused by an accident during the period of coverage which results in death within 365 days after the accident, the Insurer will pay your Nominee or the Estate RM20,000.
II. If you are diagnosed in Malaysia, with laboratory confirmation, with a COVID-19 infection which shall result in death within 365 days of diagnosis, the Insurer will pay your Nominee or the Estate RM10,000. This is provided that the Covid-19 test is conducted within the period of coverage.
III. If you are diagnosed in Malaysia, with laboratory confirmation, with a COVID-19 infection and require confinement in a hospital or quarantine facilities, the Insurer will pay you RM1,000. This is provided that the COVID-19 test is conducted within the period of coverage.
IV. If you sustain side effects and require confinement in a hospital within 30 days after receiving your COVID-19 vaccination and during the period of coverage, which results in death within 365 days after the date of the first confinement, OR if you sustain side effects which result in death within 30 days of receiving your COVID-19 vaccination and during the period of coverage, the Insurer will pay your Nominee or the Estate RM20,000. You must be medically eligible to receive the vaccination according to the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia.
V. If you sustain side effects and require confinement in a hospital within 30 days after receiving your COVID-19 vaccination and during the period of coverage, the Insurer will pay you RM200 for each day of hospitalisation up to a maximum of 10 days with respect to one confinement. Consecutive hospitalisation resulting from COVID-19 Vaccination Side Effects shall be considered as one confinement. You must be medically eligible to receive the vaccination according to the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia.
You may only claim Benefit III or Benefit V, but not both.
For Benefits II, III, IV and V, there will be a Waiting Period of seven (7) days from the effective date of the period of coverage. As for Benefit I – Accidental Death, there is no Waiting Period.
In the event the COVID-19 hospitalisation subsequently leads to death, the payout will be as follows:

3.1 Renewal of the Plan
This is a non-renewable 3-month insurance. However, you may be covered under a fresh coverage should you purchase another Sharp Air Purifier after your present coverage expires. You may only be covered under one Cocoro Insurance (Covid-19 Protection Plan) plan at any point in time.
4. HOW TO REGISTER
Step 1: Download the COCORO Life app and then register and verify your email.
Step 2: Activate your product's e-Warranty to receive the URL for your online redemption form.
Step 3: In the URL, fill in and submit our completed online redemption form.
Step 4: Your Activated Certificate of Insurance will be sent to you via email.
5. HOW TO CLAIM
Step 1: Download and print your required claim form, either the Accident Claim Form or Death Claim Form.
Step 2: Fill in the claim form with your personal details and documents.
Step 3: Submit your physical completed claim form and supporting documents to AIA Customer Centre.

6. PRIVACY PROTECTION
Sharp and Cocoro Life comply with all privacy laws of Malaysia in the collecting, processing, storage and other requirements relating to personal information. In addition to the privacy laws of Malaysia such as the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, AIA is also subject to privacy rules or guidelines which are issued by Bank Negara Malaysia.
7. AMENDMENTS TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You acknowledge that Sharp and Cocoro Life may, from time to time, amend, replace or otherwise change the terms and conditions relating to the Insurance and such changes shall be deemed effective once made available via this webpage. You agree that any such amendments shall be binding on you unless the amended terms adversely affect your rights or insurance coverage in existence at the time that such amendments take effect.
